Frequently asked questions

Will it be ok to film in church

The answer is yes providing the vicar or priest gives permission. We recommend you always ask. There may be a simple form for us to fill in. The music licences we use cover both us and you for recording in the church.

What equipment do you use

We film using Full HD cameras from both Sony and Canon. Audio is capturerd with radio microphones and stand alone audio recorders. Editing is on state of the art equipment using the latest programmes.

What about copyright

We use MCPS and PPL licences which fully covers the copyright on music and hymns recorded live during your day and any music we dub in post production.

Can I choose the music

Yes entirely up to you. We all have our personal preferences and your film is a lifetime investment. It is worth remembering that some parts of the days natural sound is good and benefits from the addition of a suitable backing track. For instance something instrumental playing quietly in the background during a receiving line allows you to enjoy the laughter of your friends and family.
For highlight montages and films on the internet it is very expensive to licence commercial tracks so we would use copyright free music which we hold. We can also upload to Youtube who allows video containing commercial music but there is no guarantee that the sound will not be muted and your film covered in advertising.

How long will the finished film be

There are options to choose here. If you go for a short form film that could be between 10 and 40 minutes depending on how much we film then include. There would be seperate chapters on the DVD for ceremony and speeches for you to keep as a reference. We find the more popular option is too have a documentary style film which follows your whole day where most of the ceremony is included and all the speeches. The length of this depends on the type of ceremony and how long the speeches are.Typically a day with a church service would be around 90 minutes and a civil ceremony around 75 minutes. It is the possible to add a highlights montage or short film for watching on smartphones, ipads or the internet.

When will our video be ready

We try to have your DVD to you when you come back from honeymoon. It does depend on how much filming we have done which in turn decides the length of time the editing will take. Also at certain busy times of the year there might be a slight delay. In order to acheive this time schedule we do need to have received your music choices.
